Organic Hens/Egg Layers
We keep batches of 50 laying birds at a time for our layers flock. They are bought in at 18 weeks old organic point of lay birds, this means they are ready to start laying the moment they arrive on the farm. We generally buy around 20 new birds each year to help the flock stay productive. The variety of birds can range depending on what our supplier is able to source for us but some common breeds we have are: Redco, Pullets, Lohman Brown, Goulais and Goldline.
