Our Organic Status

In 2000 we became members of the Soil Association and reached full organic status in 2002. We are now both Producer (G4530) and Processor (P9259) members.

Why we Do it

We have always farmed extensively at Stephen Gelly, but decided to become registered organic in 2000, because we believe in sustainable production that respects the environment. By joining the Soil Association we have signed up to their widely recognised organic standards.

It's Ethos

The Soil Association, its standards and activities, and the practice of organic farmers are all based on a set of internationally recognised principles. These principles are the roots from which organic agriculture grows and develops. They express the contribution that organic agriculture can make to the world, and a vision to improve all agriculture in a global context.
